Sid Mashburn Opens Up: The Navy Blazer

For this editorial we wanted two main components, the origin and the function. In this video I wanted to capture Sid at his most natural state, poised yet casual, but always holding court with this expertise and elegance. As the storyboard was coming together, I quickly realized that this was meant video needed to be unscripted and to flow like a conversation. So I wrote the questions out, set up a camera and simply hit record. What we were able to capture in this conversation (in one take), I believe is a true representation of the brand and how its founder, re-invented the navy blazer.

As experts in the field of tailored clothing, we wanted to take a deep dive into our bread and butter product, our most inspiring piece of clothing, the navy blazer. What we wanted was show was the importance not only in its construction, its integrity and history, but also the wearability of the jacket. Ending this creative piece with the styling gird was very important for us, as we wanted to make it relatable and easy to digest, for any person for almost any occasion .
